DEPARTMENT OF BOTANY
Department of Botany was established in the year 2005 and is well-equipped with a laboratory containing a range of sophisticated instruments comparable to the best available elsewhere. Over a short period, the department has made significant progress and now boasts a strong team of experienced faculty members.
The primary objective of UG Courses in Botany is to provide students with foundational theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in applied Plant Sciences. The department follows the National Education Policy (NEP) of 2020, offering a 4-year B.Sc. program. Moreover, the department offers various skill- based courses such as Mushroom cultivation, Biofertilizers, Ethnobotany, and Nursery Gardening and Floriculture. Alongside classroom lectures, regular sessions featuring renowned experts in Botany and interdisciplinary fields are organized. Students also benefit from field activities and exposure tours to reputable institutes enhancing their practical skills and knowledge.
