Basantar Eco Club

Objectives

The Basantar Eco Club aims to:
• Raise awareness among students, staff, and the local community about environmental issues and their impact.
• Promote sustainable practices and encourage eco-friendly behaviour within campus.
• Promote ethos of conservation of water by optimising the use of water.
• Motivate students to imbibe habits and lifestyle for minimum waste generation, source separation of waste and disposing the waste to the nearest storage points.
• Collaborate with other organizations and institutions to implement sustainable initiatives.

Activities

• Awareness Campaigns: Organize workshops, seminars, and guest lectures on environmental topics. Conduct awareness drives to educate the college community about sustainable practices. Collaborate with academic departments for environmental projects and research.
  b) Conservation Initiatives: Action based activities like tree plantation and cleanliness drives both within and outside the College campus. Encourage recycling and waste reduction on campus.Advocate for energy conservation and promote the use of renewable energy sources.
• Sustainable Events: Promote eco-friendly practices in college events and festivals.Organize sustainable fashion shows, upcycling competitions, or eco-friendly art exhibitions.Collaborate with the college canteen to promote sustainable food choices.
  b) Community Engagement: Collaborate with local environmental organizations and community groups. Organize outreach programs and environmental awareness campaigns in the local community. Participate in regional and national environmental initiatives.
