Govt. Degree College, Samba.affilated to University of Jammu was established in the year 2005, by the Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir. This college is a co-educational institution starting with 94 students in 2005 and now it has 984 students at present. Initially, it was housed in Govt. Higher Secondary School (boys), Samba and in the year 2010,

Our Vision, at GDC Samba is to impart the quality education to the students and prepare them for future perspectives.Our Mission is to work like a catalyst of change, remove deficiencies, enhance quality and bring about synergy in academic, administration, infrastructure and support systems.

Rules and Regulations For Students

1.

No outsider is allowed to enter the college without a valid reason.

2.

All the students (both boys and girls) have to be in proper uniform i.e.

  1. For Girls :
    • White Kameez Salwar with white dupatta for unmarried girls.
    • White Kameez Salwar with pink dupatta for engaged girls.
    • Pink Kameez Salwar with pink dupatta for married girls.
  2. For Boys:-
    • White Shirt and black trouser for boys.
  3. For Both:-
    • Black Sweater/jacket/coat with uniform for winters.
A student without uniform will be fined Rs. 10/- per day.

3.

Students who remain absent from the college without permission shall be fined Re. 1/- per class on a working day.

4.

If a student remains absent from the College for more than fourteen consecutive days, his/her name shall be struck off from the College rolls.

5.

Unlawful assembly of students in the college is banned.

6.

Writing of graffiti or sticking of posters is a cognizable offence.

7.

Disciplinary action will be initiated against a student resorting to unfair means in the Internal Examination.

8.

Every, students is required to at least 75% of the total lectures delivered during the session in each subject for appearing in the University Examination.

9.

Mobile phones are strictly banned for students in the college Premises.

10.

Carrying of Identity Cards is mandatory. Anyone found without Identity card can be fined.

11.

A Student desirous of withdrawing his/her name from the college rolls should submit an application, countersigned by the parents/ Guardians of the students. The relevant certificate shall be issued only after the student cleares all colleges dues. Such student shall, in no case be readmitted during the same and next academic session.

12.

As per the Govt. Order No. HE Gen 61/2001 dated: 07-09-2001, fee once deposited will not be refunded.

13.

Any Student found to involve in Ragging in the college campus will be severely punished as per the directions issued by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India.Every student is required to submit two undertakings (one from student's side and other from parents/ or guardian side) in the form of affidavits worth Rs 10/- duly attested by Notary for committing his non-involvement in Ragging.
